Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has expanded its India portfolio with the launch of the VF MPV 7, a three-row electric MPV priced at Rs. 24.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). Positioned as a family-oriented EV, the model joins the brand’s existing lineup alongside the VF6 and VF7 SUVs and targets rivals such as the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7.
The VF MPV 7 is offered in a single variant and is powered by a 60.13 kWh battery pack. VinFast claims an ARAI-certified driving range of 517 km on a full charge. The electric motor, mounted on the front axle, produces 204 HP and 280 Nm, enabling a claimed 0-100 km/hr sprint in under 9 seconds. Drivers can choose between Eco, Normal and Sport modes, along with adjustable regenerative braking levels.
Charging capability includes support for up to 80 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to replenish from 10 to 70 percent in approximately 30 minutes.
In terms of design, the VF MPV 7 carries a boxy silhouette with styling cues seen on other VinFast models. The front fascia features sleek LED light bars integrated with the brand logo, flanked by vertically stacked headlamps and a closed-off grille. The side profile is highlighted by 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels and subtle body cladding, while the rear gets a connected LED tail-lamp design and roof-mounted spoiler.
Dimensionally, the MPV measures 4740 mm in length, 1872 mm in width and 1734 mm in height, with a 2840 mm wheelbase. These figures place it among the larger offerings in its segment, although boot space stands at a modest 126 litres.
Inside, the cabin adopts a minimalist layout with a single 10.1-inch touchscreen that integrates infotainment, instrumentation and climate controls. The MPV offers a 7-seat configuration with theatre-style seating, leatherette upholstery and adjustable headrests across all rows. VinFast claims competitive third-row space, a key consideration for MPV buyers.
Features include automatic climate control with vents for all rows, wireless charging, a powered driver’s seat and one-touch power windows. However, it misses out on some premium features like a sunroof, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera and ADAS functions, which are available in certain rivals.
Safety equipment comprises four airbags, rear parking sensors with a camera, hill hold assist, electronic parking brake and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
VinFast is also offering ownership incentives, including a Rs. 2 lakh exchange bonus for buyers trading in internal combustion vehicles. Additionally, the company is providing a 3-year free maintenance package, a 7-year vehicle warranty and a 10-year battery warranty. A buyback scheme promising up to 75 percent residual value has also been introduced. Customers can further benefit from complimentary charging at VinFast’s V-Green charging network until March 2029.
