Porsche Cayenne Electric Launched In India, Priced From Rs. 1.77 Crores

Porsche has showcased the all-electric Cayenne in India for the first time, following its price announcement in the country late last year. The electric SUV is offered in two variants here — Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric — positioned above the brand’s existing electric SUV offerings in terms of performance and size.

Prices start at Rs. 1.77 crores (ex-showroom) for the Cayenne Electric and go up to Rs. 2.28 crores (ex-showroom) for the Cayenne Turbo Electric, before optional equipment.

Porsche Cayenne Electric: Powertrain and performance

Both versions use Volkswagen Group’s 800V Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture and come with a 113kWh battery and dual electric motors, providing all-wheel drive as standard.

The Cayenne Electric produces:

– 408 HP and 750 Nm
– 442 HP and 835 Nm with Launch Control
– 0-100km/hr in 4.8 seconds
– Top speed of 230 km/hr
– 642 km claimed WLTP range

The more powerful Cayenne Turbo Electric develops:

– 857 HP and 1360 Nm
– 1156 HP and 1500 Nm with Launch Control
– 0-100 km/hr in 2.5 seconds
– Top speed of 260 km/hr
– 623 km claimed WLTP range

Charging

The 800V electrical architecture allows the Cayenne Electric to accept up to 390kW of DC charging. Porsche claims a 10-80 percent charge can be completed in 16 minutes, while a 10-minute charging session can add up to 324 km of range.

The SUV also supports AC charging at up to 22kW, with a claimed 0-100 percent charging time of 5.75 hours.

Exterior design and dimensions

The Cayenne Electric follows an evolution of Porsche’s current SUV design, with styling elements shared with the smaller Macan Electric.

At the front, it gets Matrix LED headlamps with four individual DRLs, along with a wide lower air intake and vertical side air intakes. A 90-litre front boot is also available.

Measuring 4985 mm long, 1980 mm wide and 1674 mm tall, the electric Cayenne has a 3023 mm wheelbase. It is 55 mm longer than the combustion-engined Cayenne.

The SUV gets 20-inch alloy wheels as standard, with 22-inch wheels available as an option. Soft-close doors are also standard.

At the rear, the Cayenne Electric gets a sloping roofline, a full-width LED light bar with an illuminated Porsche logo and a prominent roof spoiler.

Interior and features

The cabin features a 14.5-inch curved OLED central touchscreen alongside a 14.25-inch digital driver’s display. A 14.9-inch screen for the front passenger is available as an option.

Other features include a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, powered and heated front seats, driver-seat memory, a 10-speaker audio system, 360-degree camera and ADAS.

The cabin also gets a configurable ambient lighting system with 30 colour options, while the centre console incorporates additional storage and a wireless charging pad.

Boot capacity stands at 781 litres, complemented by the front storage compartment.

With two variants, high-output dual-motor powertrains and a claimed range of more than 600 km, the Cayenne Electric expands Porsche’s electric portfolio in India while retaining the performance-focused positioning associated with the Cayenne nameplate.
