MINI Cooper Oxford Edition Launched In India, Priced At Rs. 55.5 Lakhs

MINI India has launched the Cooper Oxford Edition in India at Rs. 55.5 lakhs (ex-showroom). The limited-run model celebrates 25 years of MINI production at the BMW Group’s Oxford plant in the UK and features exclusive styling elements inspired by the British Union Jack flag.

Pre-bookings for the special edition opened on October 8, 2026, while deliveries have commenced. The Oxford Edition retains the mechanical package of the standard MINI Cooper but receives several cosmetic updates to distinguish it from the regular model.

MINI Cooper Oxford Edition: Exterior Updates

The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition is offered in two colour options: Indigo Sunset Blue and Chilli Red. Both finishes come with a full-length Union Jack graphic on the roof, giving the hatchback a distinctive appearance.

Other exterior changes include a red-and-white stripe running across the body from the front grille to the rear, white-finished outside rear-view mirror housings and exclusive 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The wheels feature blue-and-red centre caps, while a crossed-flags graphic on the bootlid further identifies the special edition.

MINI Cooper Oxford Edition: Interior and Features

The cabin largely retains the layout and grey-beige colour scheme of the standard MINI Cooper. However, the Oxford Edition introduces several special details to mark the occasion.

These include black JCW-spec seats, Union Jack branding on the steering wheel and floor mats, and a textured flag design at the base of the steering wheel. The cabin also features blue-and-red Oxford-branded door sills, while the 9.4-inch circular infotainment touchscreen gets a Union Jack-themed interface. The key fob also receives matching flag-inspired detailing.

MINI Cooper Oxford Edition: Engine and Performance

Powering the MINI Cooper Oxford Edition is the familiar 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, direct-injection turbo-petrol engine. It produces 204 HP and 300 Nm of torque, with power delivered to the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

MINI claims a 0-100 km/hr acceleration time of 6.6 seconds and a fuel efficiency figure of 16.82 km/l. The special edition does not introduce mechanical changes over the standard Cooper, with its appeal centred primarily on exclusive styling and the significance of the Oxford production milestone.

Priced at Rs. 55.5 lakhs (ex-showroom), the MINI Cooper Oxford Edition is available in limited numbers in India. With its distinctive exterior graphics, exclusive cabin details and unchanged powertrain, it is aimed at buyers looking for a more individual version of the three-door hatchback.

The limited availability may add to its appeal among MINI enthusiasts, although buyers will need to weigh the special-edition styling against the standard model’s offerings and the additional price, where applicable.
