EXCLUSIVE – Mahindra Scorpio Classic Update Leaked, Gets Sunroof!

Mahindra appears to be preparing a significant update for the Scorpio Classic, with details of the refreshed SUV surfacing online ahead of an official announcement. While the mechanical package is expected to remain unchanged, the leaked information points towards a series of exterior styling revisions and the addition of new features, including a first-ever sunroof for the model.

The front fascia is set to receive noticeable updates. A revised grille featuring six chrome slats with mesh detailing behind them will replace the existing design. The front bumper has also been redesigned with a fresh skid plate, while the daytime running lights integrated into the bumper have been removed in favour of a chrome accent strip.

Viewed from the side, the changes are more subtle but still noticeable. The outside rear-view mirrors feature integrated turn indicators, while the chrome garnish on the front fenders has been revised. Mahindra to introduce new five-spoke black alloy wheels, giving the SUV a slightly more contemporary appearance.

The body cladding has been simplified and now incorporates Scorpio branding. The side steps receive a new design, along with revised roof rails. The D-pillar treatment has been cleaned up as part of the overall exterior refresh.

At the rear, the Scorpio Classic gets redesigned tail lamps. The current red vertical extensions have been removed and replaced with black panels, lending the SUV a cleaner look. A new roof spoiler incorporating an integrated high-mounted brake light is offered, while the rear bumper has been reworked with a matte black finish and a silver skid plate.

Perhaps the most notable addition is the inclusion of a factory-fitted sunroof, a feature that has never been offered on the Scorpio Classic before. Its introduction reflects the growing demand for sunroofs in the Indian SUV market, even in rugged, body-on-frame vehicles.

No images of the cabin have surfaced so far. However, the updated model is expected to receive revisions to the interior, potentially including new features, improved equipment levels and cosmetic enhancements to keep it competitive in its segment.

Mahindra has not officially confirmed these updates. The refreshed Scorpio Classic could make its debut during the company’s Independence Day event or be introduced closer to the festive season ahead of Diwali.
