Mahindra Scorpio N Edition One Spied

Mahindra is preparing to expand the Scorpio N lineup with a new special edition, which has now been spotted without camouflage at a dealership. The SUV carries an ‘Edition One’ badge and gets a few exterior and interior changes over the standard model. However, the company has not announced an official launch timeline yet.

Mahindra Scorpio N Edition One: What’s Different?

The most prominent exterior change is the redesigned front grille. Unlike the standard Scorpio N, which features six vertical chrome slats, the special edition gets horizontal chrome elements arranged in a segmented pattern. The design draws some inspiration from Mahindra’s Lifestyler pickup.

The SUV also gets dedicated ‘Edition’ badges on the front fenders and C-pillars, distinguishing it from the regular variants. Apart from these additions, the overall exterior design appears largely unchanged.

Inside, Mahindra has introduced a different colour combination for the cabin. The dashboard features burgundy leatherette inserts in place of the brown trim seen in the standard model. The seats also get black and burgundy leatherette upholstery.

The cabin layout and equipment appear to remain unchanged. The test vehicle spotted at the dealership features a comprehensive equipment list, suggesting that the special edition could be based on the top-spec Z8L variant. Expected features include Level 2 ADAS, a 540-degree camera system, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Mahindra Scorpio N Edition One: Engine and Gearbox Options

The special edition is expected to retain the existing engine options. These include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 203 HP and 370 Nm of torque, with the automatic version developing 380 Nm.

The 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine produces 175 HP and 370 Nm with the manual gearbox, while the automatic version develops 400 Nm. Both engines are offered with rear-wheel drive, while four-wheel drive remains exclusive to the diesel-powered variants.

Transmission options are also expected to carry over from the standard SUV, which gets manual and automatic gearbox choices.

Mahindra Scorpio N Edition One: Expected Price

Mahindra is likely to position the Edition One above the corresponding standard variants, given the cosmetic changes and exclusive interior treatment. For reference, the Scorpio N Z8L is currently priced between Rs. 21.31 lakh and Rs. 25.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The standard model is available in 6-seat and 7-seat configurations, with the four-wheel-drive option limited to the 7-seat diesel variants. Whether Mahindra will offer the Edition One across multiple configurations or restrict it to a particular variant remains to be seen.

The special edition primarily brings cosmetic updates rather than any significant mechanical changes. More details, including its launch date, variant availability and pricing, are expected closer to its official introduction.
