Jeep India has introduced a new automatic variant of the Compass Sport, priced at Rs. 21.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Compass Sport 9AT pairs the entry-level trim with a nine-speed automatic gearbox, making it the most affordable automatic version of the SUV offered by the company in India.
The new variant retains the familiar 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and front-wheel-drive configuration. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second week of November 2026.
Jeep Compass Sport 9AT: Engine And Transmission
Power comes from Jeep’s 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo-diesel engine, which produces 170 HP and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, replacing the manual gearbox offered with the standard Sport variant.
The addition of an automatic option to the entry-level trim gives buyers another transmission choice without requiring them to move to a higher variant. The new model is aimed at customers who prefer the convenience of an automatic gearbox for daily driving.
Features And Safety Equipment
The Compass Sport 9AT comes with six airbags, cruise control and an Auto Hold function. It also features a 21.3cm Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Other equipment includes steering-mounted controls and electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors. The SUV continues to use Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) suspension, which is designed to adapt damping characteristics to different road conditions, along with Dynamic Steering Torque (DST) to assist steering response.
The feature list remains focused on essential safety, convenience and infotainment equipment. Buyers considering the new variant should compare its equipment with higher Compass trims to determine whether the additional features available on those versions justify the price difference.
Optional Accessory Pack Available
Jeep is also offering an optional accessory package for the Compass Sport 9AT at Rs. 29,900. The pack includes ambient lighting, a dashcam with predictive safety features, exterior decals, all-weather floor mats and mud flaps.
The package allows buyers to add further convenience and styling elements at an additional cost. The accessories are optional and are not included in the SUV’s introductory ex-showroom price.

The Jeep Compass Sport 9AT is priced at Rs. 21.99 lakhs (ex-showroom), with deliveries expected to commence from the second week of November 2026 through Jeep dealerships and Stellantis Brand Houses across India.
The wider Compass range continues to offer manual and automatic transmissions, along with front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations, depending on the variant.
