Jeep has priced the Wrangler Whitecap Mojito Limited Edition at Rs. 73.55 lakhs (ex-showroom), making it Rs. 1.25 lakhs more expensive than the standard Wrangler Rubicon. The limited-run model was offered in India in just 25 units, all of which have been sold. The special edition was first revealed last month.
The Whitecap Mojito is part of a globally limited production run of 250 units. Its India allocation accounts for a tenth of the total production, giving the model a relatively restricted presence in the domestic market.
Jeep Wrangler Whitecap Mojito: What’s different?
The special edition is based on the Wrangler Rubicon and features a bright green Mojito exterior shade, paired with a white roof. Other visual changes include a white grille surround, body-coloured fenders, ‘1941’ side decals and a white ‘4 Wheel Drive’ sticker on the tailgate.
The cabin largely retains the layout and equipment of the standard Rubicon. The Whitecap Mojito adds a built-in dashcam and reinforced grab handles, while features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch driver display, powered front seats, dual-zone climate control and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system continue unchanged. The SUV also comes with six airbags and an advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite.
Jeep Wrangler Whitecap Mojito: Engine and off-road hardware
Power comes from the familiar 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which produces 272 HP and 400 Nm of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a four-wheel-drive system.
Since the special edition is based on the Rubicon, it retains the variant’s off-road equipment. This includes heavy-duty Dana axles, reinforced suspension, rock rails, an off-road camera, high-clearance front fender flares and 17-inch wheels with 255-section off-road tyres.
There are no mechanical upgrades over the standard Rubicon. The additional cost primarily covers the special edition’s distinctive exterior treatment and the two added cabin features.
Jeep may consider bringing the Whitecap back
Although all 25 units allocated to India have been sold, Jeep has indicated that it could explore another introduction of the special edition in the future.
Kumar Priyesh, business head and director – Automotive Brands at Stellantis India, said the response from customers has encouraged the company to consider bringing the Whitecap to India again. However, no timeline or details regarding a potential second batch have been announced.
For now, the Wrangler Whitecap Mojito remains a limited-run cosmetic and equipment package based on the Rubicon, with its Rs. 73.55 lakhs price representing a Rs. 1.25 lakhs premium over the standard variant.
