2026 Maruti Baleno Facelift Launched, Priced From Rs. 6.10 Lakhs

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the updated Baleno at a starting price of Rs. 6.10 lakhs (ex-showroom). The 2026 facelift brings changes to the hatchback’s exterior and equipment list, along with a new petrol engine and the addition of Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The Baleno continues to occupy the premium hatchback space in Maruti Suzuki’s line-up and rivals models such as the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20 and Toyota Glanza.

2026 Maruti Baleno: new engine options

One of the more significant changes is under the bonnet. The facelift replaces the outgoing 1.2-litre, four-cylinder K12N petrol engine with Maruti Suzuki’s Z12E 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated unit.

The new engine produces 83 HP and 112 Nm and is available with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. While the peak figures are lower than the previous engine’s 90 HP and 113 Nm, Maruti Suzuki says the new unit has been calibrated to offer improved torque delivery at lower engine speeds.

The factory-fitted CNG version continues to be offered. In CNG operation, the engine develops 70 HP and 102 Nm and is paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

2026 Maruti Baleno: exterior changes

The facelift brings relatively limited visual changes, with most of them concentrated at the front. The grille has been enlarged and incorporates the radar hardware required for the new ADAS functions. The Suzuki badge has been repositioned above the grille.

A redesigned front bumper accompanies the larger grille, while the LED fog lamps have also received a new design. Other additions include chrome detailing on the front fenders and a shark-fin antenna.

The LED headlamps, three-piece DRL design, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and rear lamp units remain largely unchanged.

2026 Maruti Baleno: cabin and equipment

Inside, the overall dashboard layout remains familiar. The Baleno continues with its layered dashboard design and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It retains analogue instrument dials with a colour multi-information display, rather than switching to a fully digital driver display.

The existing flat-bottom steering wheel, physical climate-control switches and head-up display have also been carried over.

Among the additions are a cooled wireless smartphone charger, a Clarion-branded audio system and ventilated front seats. The facelift continues to miss some features found in certain rivals and higher-priced hatchbacks, including a sunroof and rear centre armrest.

2026 Maruti Baleno: safety and ADAS

The biggest equipment upgrade is the introduction of Level 2 ADAS. The system adds functions such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, automatic emergency braking and high-beam assistance.

The Baleno also gains a tyre-pressure monitoring system. Six airbags are standard across the range, while ABS with EBD and a 360-degree camera are among the other safety equipment available.

Maruti Suzuki is yet to reveal the complete variant-wise pricing for the facelifted Baleno. More details on the trim-specific equipment and prices are expected to follow.
