Mahindra has unveiled the production version of its lifestyle pickup truck, named the Scorpio Lifestyler. Based on the Global Pik Up concept first showcased in 2023, the new pickup is built on the Scorpio N’s ladder-frame platform and is scheduled to go on sale in India by April 2027. The company has also confirmed that introductory prices will start below Rs. 19.79 lakhs (ex-showroom).

With its positioning and pricing, the Scorpio Lifestyler is expected to compete against the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, while offering a more accessible entry point into the lifestyle pickup segment.

The Scorpio Lifestyler adopts a rugged design with styling elements that differentiate it from the Scorpio N SUV. The front features LED headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights, a wide honeycomb-pattern grille, a prominent skid plate and vertically positioned LED fog lamps. A Scorpio badge is integrated into the leading edge of the bonnet.

Viewed from the side, the pickup gets a double-cab body style, roof rails, body cladding, dual-tone alloy wheels and a distinctive rising beltline. At the rear, vertically stacked LED tail-lamps, a large Mahindra wordmark on the tailgate and a chunky rear bumper reinforce its utilitarian appearance.

Mahindra will also offer the pickup in three themed editions – Valley, Reef and Trail. Each version will feature exclusive paint finishes, graphics and accessories inspired by mountain, ocean and desert landscapes.

The cabin follows a more premium approach than the exterior suggests. A vertically oriented touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage on the dashboard, accompanied by physical controls for climate functions and other key vehicle operations. The pickup also gets a digital instrument cluster and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel.

Expected features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, connected car technology, multiple terrain modes and other convenience features, although the final equipment list will be confirmed closer to launch.

Mahindra is expected to offer the Scorpio Lifestyler with the same engine options as the Scorpio N. These include a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 175 HP and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine developing 203 HP.

Transmission choices are likely to consist of a six-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Given the pickup’s intended lifestyle and off-road positioning, four-wheel drive is also expected to be available on selected variants.

In addition to India, Mahindra plans to introduce the pickup in markets including Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and South Africa. In these international markets, the model will be sold as the Lifestyler without the Scorpio branding.
