Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup Teased Ahead Of August 14 Global Debut

Mahindra has officially confirmed the arrival of its upcoming Scorpio N pickup truck by releasing the first teaser ahead of its scheduled debut on August 14. The production model is based on the Global Pik Up concept showcased in 2023 and marks Mahindra’s entry into the lifestyle pickup segment with a more premium offering aimed at private buyers.

The teaser offers an early look at several design elements. At the front, the pickup features L-shaped LED daytime running lights flanking slim LED headlamps, along with vertically positioned LED fog lamps integrated into the bumper. A hexagonal grille houses the Twin Peaks logo, while a camera mounted beneath it suggests the availability of a 360-degree or 540-degree camera system. The side profile reveals a double-cab body style paired with a long cargo bed, while the rear gets C-shaped LED tail-lamps and prominent Mahindra lettering across the tailgate.

Inside, the pickup adopts a modern cabin layout with a portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster and a three-spoke steering wheel. Physical controls for the dual-zone climate control system and a rotary drive mode selector are also visible, indicating a combination of touchscreen and conventional switchgear.

Mahindra had previously stated that the production pickup would be equipped with features such as Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, semi-automatic parking, connected car technology and a sunroof.

Mechanical specifications are yet to be confirmed, although the company had earlier announced that the pickup would use its second-generation all-aluminium mHawk diesel engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive and multiple terrain modes are also expected. Select international markets are likely to receive a version powered by the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine.

The pickup will be based on the Scorpio N’s ladder-frame platform but is expected to feature a longer wheelbase to accommodate a larger load bed. Mahindra has previously indicated that the platform has been engineered to meet global crash safety standards.

Once launched, the Scorpio N pickup is expected to compete in the growing lifestyle pickup segment, offering an alternative to models such as the Toyota Hilux while targeting buyers looking for a combination of utility, off-road capability and everyday usability.
