Lamborghini launches the hybrid-powered Temerario in India boasting 920 HP

Lamborghini has introduced its latest supercar, the Temerario, to the Indian market, marking the brand’s transition from the Huracan to a new era of hybrid performance. It is priced at Rs. 6 crores (ex-showroom).

Performance and Powertrain

The Temerario represents a significant technological leap for Lamborghini, featuring a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a newly developed 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with three electric motors. The V8 unit alone is capable of producing 800 HP and 730Nm of torque, and revs to an impressive 10,000 RPM. According to Lamborghini, this makes it the most powerful and highest-revving V8 ever fitted to a production car.

Supporting the combustion engine are three electric motors: a 150 HP unit integrated into the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and two 82 HP motors on the front axle. Together, they deliver a combined system output of 920 HP and 800 Nm. The setup enables a claimed 0-100 km/hr sprint time of 2.7 seconds and a top speed in excess of 340 km/hr.

Battery, Charging and Driving Modes

The hybrid system draws power from a 3.8kWh lithium-ion battery, which can be replenished via a 7kW AC charger in about 30 minutes, through regenerative braking or using the internal combustion engine. The Temerario also debuts Lamborghini’s first drift mode and offers four distinct driving modes, including a fully electric Citta mode, Strada, Sport and Corsa.

Chassis, Braking and Weight Management

Built on a lightweight aluminium spaceframe, the Temerario achieves a dry weight of 1715 kg, which can be reduced further to 1690 kg with the optional Alleggerita performance package. This pack adds features such as carbon-fibre wheels and a fixed rear wing. Lamborghini claims the platform improves torsional rigidity by 20 percent compared to the Huracan.

Braking is managed by 410 mm discs with 10-piston calipers at the front and 390 mm discs with 4-piston calipers at the rear, helping achieve a 100-0 km/hr stopping distance of just 32 metres.

Exterior Design and Aerodynamics

Aesthetically, the Temerario retains Lamborghini’s signature sharp, aggressive lines with styling cues drawn from models like the Huracan, Gallardo and the newer Revuelto. The car rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, available in forged or carbon-fibre variants. The aerodynamic profile has seen significant refinement, with the car being 103 percent more aero-efficient than the Huracan Evo, and 158 percent more with the Alleggerita kit.

Cabin Features and Technology

Inside, the Temerario takes clear inspiration from the Revuelto, showcasing a cockpit-like layout filled with hexagonal design elements. Key highlights include a 12.3-inch digital driver display, an 8.4-inch central touchscreen and a 9.1-inch passenger-side display. The supercar also comes with 18-way power-adjustable, ventilated and heated seats, AR navigation, onboard telemetry and a dashcam. Despite its compact sports car proportions, Lamborghini claims enhanced cabin space and luggage capacity over the Huracan, accommodating even tall drivers wearing helmets.

Market Position and Rivals

In the Indian market, the Lamborghini Temerario is positioned above its primary rivals — the Ferrari 296 GTB and the McLaren Artura.
