Volkswagen has been spotted testing the Taigun facelift. The German SUV’s sister, Skoda Kushaq, is also getting a facelift soon; but the test mule for the Taigun has now been spotted. The facelift will reflect the brand’s global design language as well as important feature additions.
The most notable feature which will be added to the facelifted Taigun is a 360-degree camera system. The other feature addition may be dual-zone climate control.
There may not be any mechanical upgrades, and the facelifted Taigun will be powered by the same 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol or 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The 3-cylinder engine is available with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The 4-cylinder engine is available with the 6-speed manual transmission or the 7-speed DSG transmission.
We expect the learnings from the Skoda Kylaq to be transferred to the bigger SUVs. The Skoda Kushaq facelift is expected to launch in 2027, and the Volkswagen Taigun will arrive after its launch. It remains to be seen how the Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq facelifts will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
