
VinFast has finally launched the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs in India. The introductory prices start at Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 20.89 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. VinFast first showcased both models at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
The VF 6, a compact electric SUV with similar proportions to the Hyundai Creta Electric. It features split LED headlamps, DRLs placed near the bonnet, and a wide air intake. At the rear, it sports a split light bar and a multi-layered tailgate.
The VF 6’s interior features a 12.9-inch touchscreen positioned towards the driver. A head-up display replaces the traditional instrument cluster. Ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and a panoramic glass roof are available in the higher trims.
The VF 6 is offered in Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity trims. All variants get a 59.6 kWh battery pack. The range figures are 468 km for Earth and 463 km for the Wind trims.
Performance differs across variants. The Earth trim produces 174 HP and 250 Nm of torque, while Wind and Wind Infinity deliver 201 HP and 310 Nm of torque. Level 2 ADAS is standard across all versions.
The VF 7 is a larger SUV, measuring about 4.5 metres. It features a sleek roofline, sporty profile, and premium detailing. Black cladding adds a crossover-inspired stance.
Its cabin shares much with the VF 6, including the driver-focused 12.9-inch touchscreen and minimalist dashboard. A head-up display replaces the instrument cluster. Most functions, including climate controls, are managed through the central screen.
VinFast offers the VF 7 in five trims, i.e. Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky, and Sky Infinity. The Earth trim uses a 59.6 kWh battery with a 438 km claimed range. Higher trims get a 70.8 kWh battery with single or dual-motor options.
Single-motor versions produce 201 HP and 310 Nm of torque, while dual-motor AWD models output 348 HP and 500 Nm of torque. The range varies between 510 km and 532 km, depending on the variant. Level 2 ADAS is standard on the VF 7.
VinFast will assemble both SUVs at its new plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The Vietnamese automaker opened bookings on July 15 for Rs. 21,000/-. The VF 6 will rival the likes of Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Creta Electric, while the VF 7 challenges the Tata Harrier EV and the Mahindra XEV 9e.
