TVS To Launch Its First Adventure Bike This Year: Key Details

The much-awaited TVS Apache RTX 300 is expected to launch in the second half of 2025; To rival RE Himalayan 450 & KTM 390 Adventure

TVS Motor Company is all set to foray into the highly popular ADV segment with its first-ever adventure motorcycle. The ADV bike category is currently booming in India and we have seen several new models in the past few years. Capitalising on this trend, the Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer will join the bandwagon with the launch of the Apache RTX 300. The brand’s first ADV was officially unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo.

While TVS is yet to announce a specific launch timeline, we expect the RTX 300 to go on sale in the second half of 2025, most probably around the festive season. The RTX 300 is based on the steel trellis frame, sharing its underpinnings with the Apache RR 310 and RTR 310.

This means that the adventure motorcycle will be more road-focused in terms of hardware. Similarly, the design language is on the sportier side with few adventure-oriented elements like a typical ADV beak, a tall windscreen, mid-set foot pegs, knuckle guards, luggage rack and a beefy engine guard. The RTX 300 sports a split headlamp setup upfront, accompanied by hefty fairing, lending it a modern and imposing stance.

Talking about the hardware, the ADV is suspended by a set of long-travel USD forks at the front and a rear mono-shock. It rides on a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel, shod with block-pattern tyres. The braking department is handled by disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.

On the feature front, a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts will be a part of the package. Moreover, the RTX 300 will also come with riding modes, switchable rear ABS, traction control, cruise control and cornering ABS.

The upcoming TVS’ first adventure bike will be powered by the new RT-XD4 299cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with power output rated at 35 PS and 28.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. We expect the Apache RTX 300 to be priced at around Rs. 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will go up against the likes of KTM 390 Adventure X, BMW G 310 GS, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and Yezdi Adventure amongst others.
