Tesla is gearing up to open its second Indian showroom, located in Delhi’s upscale Aerocity area near the IGI Airport. This move comes shortly after the brand inaugurated its first experience centre in Mumbai, signalling an aggressive expansion strategy. A recent image shared on X (formerly Twitter) shows the Aerocity facility nearing completion, with operations expected to begin by August.
Tesla will utilise the showroom as a key touchpoint, allowing customers to experience its EV lineup in an immersive way. Tesla currently retails the Model Y in India at a starting price of Rs. 59.89 Lakh (ex-showroom). The car’s high pricing results from it being a CBU (completely built unit) import.
Tesla offers the Model Y in two variants, namely Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive, with a WLTP-claimed range of up to 622 km. Featuring a top speed of 201 km/hr, the Model Y includes 19-inch crossflow alloys and offers optional FSD (Full Self-Driving) capability for an extra Rs. 6 Lakh. Tesla prices most interior and exterior colour combinations at a premium, except for the standard Stealth Grey exterior paired with a black interior.
Tesla recently opened nationwide bookings for the Model Y through its official Indian website. The brand focuses on expanding its dealership, increasing trust and visibility in the Indian market. Potential buyers can experience the car firsthand at the new Aerocity outlet before making a purchase decision.
