Tata Motors is preparing to launch a new Nexon.ev variant with major feature additions. Prices will be announced in the coming weeks. This update will strengthen the Nexon.ev’s position in India’s growing electric SUV market.
Sources indicate that the Nexon.ev will soon receive Level 2 ADAS technology. Currently, the sub-four-metre SUV lacks advanced driver assistance features. Tata Motors will name the new variant Nexon.ev Empowered+ A, where “A” stands for the ADAS suite.
The fully loaded Empowered variant will serve as the basis for the Nexon.ev Empowered+ A. All features offered earlier will be carried forward. Additionally, this variant will be available only with the larger 45 kWh battery pack option.
The claimed range on a single charge for the 45 kWh version is 489 km. The combination of long range with advanced safety features enhances its appeal among premium EV buyers.
The Level 2 ADAS features include adaptive cruise control, driver drowsiness detection, and automatic emergency braking. Other functions may include lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. Rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, and forward collision warning are also likely additions.
Tata aims to make the Nexon.ev more competitive against rivals offering ADAS with this update. The move highlights Tata’s focus on improving technology and safety in its EV range. Potential buyers can expect the launch announcement very soon.
