Tata Power partnered with Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. to inaugurate Mumbai’s first large-scale TATA.ev MegaCharger hub. The launch was held on World EV Day and was inaugurated by Dr. Praveer Sinha and Mr. Shailesh Chandra. Tata Power and Tata Motors highlight their joint commitment towards developing India’s EV charging ecosystem through this collaboration.
The hub is strategically located near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, within The Leela Mumbai Hotel premises. The hub is designed to serve private EV owners, taxis, ride-hailing fleets, and logistics operators. The placement also supports tourists, business travellers, and professionals commuting between Andheri, BKC, and South Mumbai.
Equipped with eight fast DC chargers offering up to 120 kW speed, the facility provides 16 charging bays simultaneously. This design feature makes it one of the largest and most advanced EV charging hubs in Mumbai. Tata Power reinforces its vision of sustainable infrastructure as renewable energy powers the facility.
The hub is part of the growing TATA.ev MegaCharger network under Tata Passenger Electric Mobility’s flagship initiative. It offers benefits like up to 25% discount and priority access for TATA.ev customers. Users can access services through the Tata Power EZ Charge App and soon through the iRA.ev connected car app.
Tata Power has deployed over 1000 green charging points in Mumbai and 5500 across India. The company operates 1.4 lakh home chargers and 1200+ bus charging points nationwide. By 2030, Tata Power aims to scale to 7.5 lakh home chargers and 10,000 public charging stations.
