Tata Altroz Old Vs New Car Comparison

Tata has launched the facelifted Altroz. The company has made multiple changes to the outgoing model, ranging from styling to features. This update solidifies the Altroz’s positioning in the market as a premium hatchback.

Let’s examine the differences between the old Altroz and the facelift.

Styling

Tata has evolved the older model into the new Altroz. Design cues make it more futuristic than before. There are split LED headlights with revised DRLs. A vertical fog lamp housing redesigns the front bumper.

Flush door handles also electronically pop out. Redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels look more aerodynamic than before. A connected LED light bar with revised LED taillights is present at the rear.

The facelifted model appears less boxy than the older Altroz hatchback. The grilles do not integrate with the fog lamps. Additionally, the previous generation also has fixed door handles and lacks a light bar for the rear.

Interior

Tata also gives a major overhaul to the interior in terms of design. Tata calls the dashboard design “Grand Prestigia”. It is similar to the design seen in the current-generation Tata Nexon and Curvv. The interior feels upmarket in part due to the dual-tone elements.

The older Altroz looked dated with the previous generation infotainment system and overall interior design. It missed out on features like ventilated seats, except for the Racer. The older Altroz got some cool features like Xpress Cool and one-shot power windows up and down.

Features

Tata equips the Altroz facelift with a dual 10.25-inch infotainment system and instrument cluster. There is also a two-spoke steering wheel, similar to newer Tata models. Not to mention, the new Altroz retains features like rear AC vents, cruise control, automatic headlights and wipers, a 90-degree opening door and a 360-degree camera.

Tata offers the new Altroz in 5 variants: Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished, and Accomplished +S.

Engines

Tata has made no changes to the Altroz engine and transmission options. A 1.2-litre NA engine produces 88 HP, paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed DCA transmission. A CNG option with the same engine is offered with a 5-speed manual, producing 74 HP.

Additionally, there is also the availability of a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 90 HP. The Altroz remains the only hatchback to offer a diesel powertrain in the market. It is likely to be priced between Rs. 6.65 lakhs and Rs. 11.30 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Verdict

The 2025 Altroz facelift appears to be better equipped than before. The feature additions with the styling update enhance its appeal as a prospect in the market. In terms of competition, the Altroz competes with the Hyundai i20, Maruti Fronx and Toyota Glanza.
