Tata Motors has officially revealed the updated Altroz, marking the first significant revision to the premium hatchback since its initial debut in January 2020. With the facelift, the Altroz receives a host of cosmetic enhancements, a revamped interior inspired by newer Tata models and an extended feature list. While the mechanicals remain unchanged, the refreshed design and added equipment aim to keep the Altroz competitive in its segment.
The 2025 Altroz facelift introduces substantial changes to its exterior design. At the front, the hatchback now sports a more modern appearance thanks to a new set of full-LED split headlamps, a restyled grille with layered rectangular detailing and a redesigned bumper that houses vertically aligned fog lamp enclosures. The side profile gets a mild update with the addition of illuminated flush door handles and new 16-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels.
At the rear, the most noticeable update is the new connected LED tail-light setup with a horizontal LED bar, giving the car a broader stance. This rear light design bears some resemblance to that of the Hyundai Venue. The tailgate now features prominent ‘Altroz’ branding and the lower half of the rear bumper receives a sportier dual-tone finish. Tata is also offering the Altroz in five fresh exterior colours: Dune Glow, Ember Glow, Pristine White, Pure Grey and Royal Blue.
Significant updates have also been made to the cabin, with clear design influences from the Tata Nexon and the Curvv concept. The dashboard layout has been simplified for a more premium and contemporary look. Key additions include a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The steering wheel now follows the newer 2-spoke design language seen in other recent Tata models. Additionally, several features that were previously exclusive to the sportier Altroz Racer have been made standard on higher variants, including six airbags. Other carryover features include an electric sunroof, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, cruise control, automatic headlights and wipers, 90-degree opening doors and a 360-degree camera.
Despite the exterior and interior revisions, Tata has retained the existing engine options for the Altroz facelift. It continues to be offered with an 88 HP 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic), a 74 HP CNG variant and a 90 HP 1.5-litre diesel engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Altroz remains the only diesel-powered hatchback available in the Indian market.
The updated Altroz will be available in five variants: Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S and Accomplished+ S. Although pricing details have yet to be disclosed, the facelifted model is expected to command a slight premium over the current version, which is priced between Rs. 6.65 lakhs and Rs. 11.30 lakhs (ex-showroom).
In the premium hatchback segment, the 2025 Altroz facelift will continue to rival the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza.
