Suzuki has halted sales of the Jimny XL (5-door) in Australia. Dealers have been instructed to cancel pending orders and refund deposits following a stop-sale notice. An unspecified issue prompted the decision without providing a detailed explanation.

Suzuki is currently analysing the Jimny XL, manufactured in India, to determine the root cause. Suzuki Australia confirmed the problem is not safety-related, so existing owners can continue driving without concern. Resolution

The Australian arm of Suzuki states that cancelling orders and returning deposits represents the most transparent, customer-focused approach. He emphasised that this measure ensures fairness for buyers awaiting deliveries. Customers still have the option to remain in the queue and will receive direct updates from Suzuki.

After discontinuing the 3-door model in March due to a lack of mandatory autonomous emergency braking, Suzuki currently sells only the Jimny XL variant in Australia. Suzuki has not provided a timeframe for the resumption of sales.
