Skoda has been spotted testing the Kushaq in India. The brand launched the SUV in 2021. The refresh for the Kushaq has been long overdue, as competitors like the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta have taken the lead in feature additions.
Revised headlights and larger fog lamps positioned lower are revealed by the Kushaq test mule. The grille of the Kushaq features slimmer vertical slats, and a connected LED strip may be hidden in its covered upper half. Additionally, the squared-off design pattern of the air dam differs from the outgoing model.
There are no changes on the side of the Kushaq facelift test mule. However, you can spot a new set of black alloy rims. A connected LED strip at the rear, which you can spot from a protruding section of the tailgate of the vehicle, may be present.
The interior is not shown in the spy shots, but a few changes to the interior are expected. This can include new trim pieces, new colour options, and a longer feature list. Notably, the Kushaq facelift will also include Level 2 ADAS like the rest of the competition.
Skoda may not make any major changes to the engine options of the Kushaq facelift. The Kushaq is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder engine, producing 115 HP and 178 NM of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, there is also the option of a 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, producing 150 HP and 250 NM of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG transmission.
Notably, Skoda is working on a new 8-speed automatic transmission to phase out the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The AISIN-sourced transmission will comply with the inbound CAFE III norms. However, the 8-speed automatic transmission will not come in the Kushaq facelift at launch but can be introduced later in 2026.
The average facelift cycle is between 3 to 4 years. It is expected that the facelifted Kushaq will launch in late 2025 or early 2026.
