Nissan launches the first-ever Nismo edition of the X-Trail SUV. This comes after the launch of the Patrol Nismo Edition. It combines aggressive design with enhancements for a sportier driving experience.
The X-Trail Nismo features dark chrome accents across the grille and a front splitter with signature Nismo badging. Side skirts, a rear diffuser with red highlights, and an F1-style brake light bring aggression to the SUV. The brand claims that the body kit reduces lift by 29% without increasing air resistance.
There are 20-inch Enkei aluminium wheels that enhance the SUV’s bold stance and aerodynamic efficiency. These wheels feature wide centre openings for improved brake cooling. Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres provide superior grip and handling on various surfaces.
Inside, the cabin features sporty red accents for a performance-oriented look. Customers can get Recaro sports seats with electric adjustment and heating. This upgrade significantly enhances comfort and the driving experience.
Mechanically, the X-Trail Nismo remains unchanged under the hood. It uses a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol mild-hybrid powertrain. This setup produces 211 HP and 525 NM of torque for smooth yet powerful performance.
The X-Trail Nismo introduces Kayaba Swing Valve shock absorbers, marking a first for Nissan. Its e-4ORCE all-wheel control system is specially tuned for precise cornering and stability. Increased rear-wheel power distribution ensures improved acceleration and sharper handling.
The Vehicle Control Module receives unique calibration for responsive performance. Sport mode prioritises agility, while Auto mode focuses on strong mid-to-high-range acceleration. These settings enhance driving engagement across conditions.
Nissan will begin the sales of the X-Trail Nismo edition in Japan from September 24. The brand launched the X-Trail in India as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit. It remains to be seen whether Nissan launches the Nismo edition in India as well.
