Nissan Patrol NISMO Revealed, Gets More Power Than The Patrol SUV

Nissan has unveiled the Patrol NISMO globally. The Patrol is a popular SUV available in various markets, including the Middle East. The NISMO is a performance-oriented version, adding more power and more aggressive elements to the competent SUV.

Styling Changes

The Nissan Patrol NISMO has design cues which makes it more appealing in the Middle Eastern markets. Nissan gives the V-Motion front grille a more aggressive treatment with horizontal and vertical lines. A mesh honeycomb design also aids engine cooling and radiator performance.

NISMO has added an extended spoiler to increase the downforce of the SUV. Additionally, layered air diffusers, rear side splitters, and air outlets are present. The Patrol NISMO also gets a Formula E-inspired rear fog lamp and red accents on the performance parts, differentiating them from the regular Patrol.

Nissan offers the performance SUV in five colors: White Pearl, Grey Metallic, Blue Metallic, Black Pearl, and a NISMO-exclusive Stealth Grey. These colours are offered in a monotone theme with a black contrast roof.

Interior Changes

Nissan introduces quite a few interior changes in the Nissan Patrol NISMO, such as a two-tone red and black scheme with contrast stitching on the steering wheel, dashboard, seats, and doors. The interior is enhanced with the addition of metal elements and a combination of leather and suede upholstery.

The seats feature quilting that is like the mesh pattern observed on the front grille. There are NISMO logos on the headrests, and a red start/stop button. Additionally, there are also carbon fibre finishes and aluminium sport pedals.

Engine

A 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 powers the Nissan Patrol NISMO, producing 495 HP and 700 NM of torque. This makes it the most powerful VR35DDT to date. The engine has a NISMO red engine cover and pairs with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Suspension Changes

The Patrol NISMO also gets 22-inch RAYS 9-spoke aluminium alloy rims, wrapped in 275/50-section tyres. The design is 23% lighter than the regular Patrol SUV. The suspension is also lowered and equipped with NISMO-tuned E-dampers, which compromise the approach angle and ground clearance of the SUV, offering better handling capabilities.

Outlook

Nissan currently offers the Nissan Patrol NISMO in the Middle Eastern market. However, Nissan may launch it in other markets, considering the popularity of the SUV in other markets like Australia. Notably, the Patrol NISMO is ideal for the Middle Eastern market as it offers the best of both worlds with off-roading capabilities as well as good performance and handling.
