Most affordable bikes in India with a TFT display

Tech is no longer reserved for just high-end machines – it’s trickling down fast, and one of the most noticeable upgrades in recent years is the TFT display. TFTs are capable of displaying vibrant colours and sharper contrast while showcasing an array of information. Unlike basic LCDs that stick to static layouts and segmented readouts, TFT displays can incorporate animations and cycle between various pages, typically in much higher resolution. Here, we have curated a list of all the bikes under Rs 2 lakh that offer this feel-good feature.

Hero Karizma XMR

Rs 2 lakh

The Hero Karizma XMR is the most recent entrant to this list. Previously, it was launched only with a negative LCD screen. However, via a recent update, Hero gave the Karizma XMR a new Top variant that features a TFT display and a USD fork. This display first debuted on the Xpulse 210 and has now been carried over to the Karizma.

This 4.2-inch TFT display is capable of notifying the rider of messages, missed calls, phone battery status and turn-by-turn navigation, amongst others, via Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to the connected tech, it also showcases the bike’s battery status and real-time fuel consumption.

Hero Xpulse 210

Rs 1.86 lakh

As mentioned above, the Karizma XMR borrows its 4.2-inch TFT from the Xpulse 210. Similar to the Karizma, the Xpulse is also offered with the TFT display only in the Top variant. Here, too, all phone connectivity features and the vehicle’s telematics are retained.

Honda NX200

 Rs 1.69 lakh

The NX200 was recently introduced when Honda updated the CB200X to comply with OBD2B norms. This update brought along a 4.2-inch TFT as well, which is now also available with most of the Honda 2-wheelers, including the Activa and Dio.

The Honda’s dash features Bluetooth connectivity via a dedicated smartphone app that brings in music control and turn-by-turn navigation.

Honda Hornet 2.0

Rs 1.57 lakh

The Honda Hornet 2.0 was another model to receive the same 4.2-inch TFT display, identical in both functionality and form factor. As part of its ongoing efforts to meet stricter OBD2B emission norms, Honda steadily updated its entire line-up. Alongside these compliance-related upgrades, the brand introduced the TFT dash across most of its two-wheeler range.

Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid

 Rs 1.45 lakh

The most affordable offering from Yamaha that gets a TFT dash is the recently launched FZ-S Fi Hybrid. The Fi Hybrid is the first FZ since its launch to offer a 4.2-inch TFT display. It comes with smartphone integration, offering music control, turn-by-turn navigation and call notifications. The Hybrid suffix points to an integrated starter generator that has been recently added. This feature enables silent start and features a start/stop system that cuts the engine in traffic and restarts it with a quick clutch pull.

Honda SP160

 Rs 1.22 lakh

The SP160 is the most affordable Honda bike to feature a TFT dash. As is the case with all the updated Hondas, the SP160 also features the same 4.2-inch TFT dash with three brightness levels and a white background. The standard display features a horizontal rev counter with the current speed displayed below it. This TFT dash also brings smartphone connectivity via a dedicated app that displays incoming calls, music and turn-by-turn navigation.

TVS Raider

 Rs 1.20 lakh

The top SX variant of the TVS Raider is the most affordable model on this list. It is also the only 125cc motorcycle to offer a TFT display. This display gets the usual array of features brought in via smartphone connectivity, but in addition to that, it also features voice-assisted commands to connect or disconnect a call, music control and navigation details.

Honourable mentions

Yamaha R15M

Rs 2.01 lakh

The R15M is the top variant in the line-up and is also the only one to get a TFT dash. Yamaha claims that the R15M’s TFT dash has an interface inspired by the R1 superbike, and it is different when compared to the aforementioned FZ-S Fi Hybrid. The R15M is priced at Rs 2.01 lakh, and it narrowly missed out on this list because our cutoff for this one is Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
