MG Motor India has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of a new variant in the Windsor lineup — the Windsor Exclusive Pro. Priced at Rs. 17.25 lakhs (ex-showroom), the new variant is positioned just below the top-spec Essence Pro and features the same larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, offering an ARAI-certified range of 449 km.
The Exclusive Pro variant brings a more premium set of features compared to the lower-spec Exclusive trim, while maintaining a more accessible price point than the fully loaded Essence Pro. It costs Rs. 85,000 less than the top-end model, while still offering several high-end features.
For customers opting for MG’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model, the Windsor Exclusive Pro is priced at Rs. 12.24 lakhs, with an ongoing battery rental of Rs. 4.5 per km.
While the standard Windsor Exclusive variant (38 kWh) comes with a 6-speaker setup, the new Exclusive Pro introduces a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, including a subwoofer and four tweeters. Additional upgrades include ambient lighting and dual-tone interior upholstery — features previously limited to higher-end variants.
Common equipment across both Exclusive and Exclusive Pro variants includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, 18-inch alloy wheels and leatherette upholstery.
Despite its enhancements, the Exclusive Pro does make a few trade-offs when compared to the top-tier Essence Pro. Notable omissions include a sunroof, ventilated front seats, an ADAS suite and a PM2.5 air filter.
The Exclusive Pro is available in three exterior colour options: Pearl White, Starry Black and Turquoise Green.
With the launch of the Exclusive Pro, the MG Windsor range now comprises five variants:
Variant | Battery | Price | BaaS Price |
---|---|---|---|
Excite | 38kWh | Rs. 14 lakh | Rs. 10 lakh + Rs. 3.9/km |
Exclusive | 38kWh | Rs. 15.05 lakh | Rs. 10.99 lakh + Rs. 3.9/km |
Essence | 38kWh | Rs. 16.15 lakh | Rs. 11.99 lakh + Rs. 3.9/km |
Exclusive Pro | 52.9kWh | Rs. 17.25 lakh | Rs. 12.24 lakh + Rs. 4.5/km |
Essence Pro | 52.9kWh | Rs. 18.10 lakh | Rs. 13.09 lakh + Rs. 4.5/km |
The Windsor Exclusive Pro’s pricing places it competitively in the mid-to-premium electric SUV segment, taking on rivals like the Tata Nexon EV, which ranges from Rs. 12.49 lakh to Rs. 17.19 lakh (ex-showroom). By bridging the gap between the lower and upper trims, MG aims to offer more flexibility for buyers seeking extended range and enhanced features without committing to the highest price point.
