Mercedes is set to debut the GT 63 AMG and GT 63 AMG Pro in India on June 27, 2025. These are the luxury brand’s supercars, offering comfort and sport in a front-engine package. Mercedes will bring the supercars to the country via CBU (Completely Built Unit).
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 evolves from the Mercedes-AMG GT. It is 182mm longer, 45mm wider, and 66mm taller. Additionally, the wheelbase is 70mm longer and now offers 2+2 seating, unlike the predecessor, which was strictly a two-seater.
The interior of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 resembles the Mercedes-AMG SL 55. It features an 11.9-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch driver’s display. Additionally, the interior also features an AMG steering wheel and sport seats.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 is powered by a 4.0-litre biturbo V8. It produces 585 HP and 800 NM of torque. The engine pairs with a 9-speed Multi-Clutch Transmission (MCT). Internationally, Mercedes also offers a 6.1 kWh battery that supplies 150 kW to the rear axle.
The 0-100 Km/hr acceleration happens in just 3.2 seconds, to a top speed of 315 Km/hr.
Regarding the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro, it produces 612 HP and 850 NM of torque. Additionally, the GT 63 Pro also has a higher top speed of 317 Km/hr and a quicker 0-200 Km/hr sprint of just 10.9 seconds, compared to 11.4 seconds on the GT 63. Overall, the GT 63 Pro comprises better cooling, upgraded aerodynamics, bigger brakes and grippier tyres.
Mercedes will price the GT 63 and GT 63 Pro at upwards of Rs. 3 crore (ex-showroom). It will be fascinating to see how the AMG GT 63 stack up against the likes of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4, which is priced at Rs. 2.84 crore.
