2026 Mercedes GLC EV Revealed At IAA, Will Rival The BMW iX3

Mercedes has showcased its all-electric GLC SUV at IAA in Germany. It is known as the GLC with EQ Technology, replacing the EQE SUV. Positioning it as a premium electric SUV, it will rival the BMW iX3.

Styling

A massive grille with 942 backlit dots surrounds the illuminated three-pointed star on the exterior. The headlights feature star-shaped DRLs, and the taillight bar incorporates miniature star LEDs. Aerodynamics are improved with a drag coefficient of 0.26, supported by a sloping roofline and subtle spoiler.

Interior

Inside, the 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen dominates the cabin. It merges driver display, central touchscreen, and passenger screen into one seamless panel. Mercedes also enhances usability by reintroducing physical buttons for the steering wheel and console, compared to touch-sensitive controls.

Battery Performance

The new 800V-compatible MB.EA platform serves as the base for the GLC EV. In markets like the US, it launches with GLC 300+ and GLC 400 4Matic versions. The single-motor GLC 300+ produces 374 HP, while the dual-motor GLC 400 delivers 489 HP.

Battery Range

Both versions feature a 94 kWh NMC battery pack with 330 kW DC fast charging capability. The integrated DC converter enables charging to work with both 400V and 800V chargers. Adding 303 km with a 10-minute charge, the GLC 400 offers a 713 km WLTP range.
