Nissan has revealed the new Roox. The kei car, which is in its 4th generation, has been a long-time domestic bestseller in Japan. Sales will commence later this year, and the prices will start from approximately 1.6 million yen.
In terms of design, the Roox prioritises space and playfulness, implementing a rounded-square theme on lights, handles, and wheels. New two-tone paint schemes and fresh colours like Celadon Green and Cinnamon Latte extend the choices to 17 variations. These options bring added personalisation for potential buyers.
The interior of the Roox accommodates 4 adults with an interior length of 2315 mm. Wide-opening rear sliding doors improve accessibility, while redesigned seats and quieter materials create a refined, “living room-like” feel. For daily use, smart storage options further enhance practicality.
The Roox features a 12.3-inch infotainment display, the largest ever in its segment, and NissanConnect with Google built in. The Japanese kei car features the Intelligent Around View Monitor, which provides a 3D view, Invisible Hood View, and wide-angle visibility for easy city driving. These upgrades aim to make parking and navigation seamless in tight urban environments.
Under the hood, a 658cc inline 3-cylinder hybrid engine producing 51 HP, offers improved fuel efficiency and reduced noise. Additionally, there is also the same engine available with a turbocharger producing 63 HP. These engines pair with a CVT gearbox and will be available as Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD) and optional All-Wheel-Drive (AWD).
Improved suspension and upgraded seating materials make the ride smoother and more comfortable. ProPILOT driver assistance, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Intervention, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are safety features that are rare for this category.
