Maruti Suzuki has commenced production of the e-Vitara electric SUV at its Hansalpur plant in Gujarat. This is the company’s first all-electric model for India and global markets. Maruti Suzuki first unveiled the SUV at the Auto Expo 2025.
Three variants will be offered – Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. Customers have a choice of 10 colour options, including dual-tone shades. Colours include Opulent Red, Bluish Black, Arctic White, Nexa Blue, and more.
Maruti Suzuki will offer the e-Vitara with two battery packs, i.e. 61.1kWh and 48.8kWh. Both battery packs use a single electric motor and deliver a 500 km range. DC fast charging can charge from 0% to 80% in 50 minutes.
Maruti has added features like LED projector headlamps, an electric sunroof, ADAS, and a 360-degree camera. The e-Vitara also offers ventilated seats, a wireless charger, and multiple drive modes. The cabin features dual 10-inch screens, automatic climate control, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Maruti Suzuki expects the e-Vitara to strengthen the brand’s presence in the electric SUV segment, targeting both domestic and global markets. It remains to be seen how the e-Vitara will be priced against stiff competition from models like the Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Harrier EV.
