Audi Q3 Sportback Revealed, Will Rival The Mercedes GLA & BMW X1

Audi has revealed the second-generation Q3 Sportback, just two months after showcasing the third-gen Q3 SUV globally. The new coupe-styled SUV builds on the Q3’s success and now offers a plug-in hybrid option. Audi maintains its position as one of the most popular models worldwide.

Styling

The front design is largely similar to the Q3 SUV, featuring a wide single-frame grille and split LED headlamps. Audi also introduces its latest 2D logo and redesigned alloy wheels exclusively for the Sportback. Its sloping roofline, which is 29 mm lower than the SUV, represents the most significant change.

At the rear, the Sportback offers OLED taillamps as an optional extra and illuminated Audi rings on the tailgate. Even with its coupe styling, the boot space remains unchanged at 488 litres. Overall, it combines sporty looks with practicality.

Interior

Inside, the Sportback retains the same curved display housing an 11.9-inch virtual cluster and a 12.8-inch infotainment screen. The infotainment runs Android Automotive OS and supports Apple CarPlay but lacks Android Auto. It also offers four USB-C ports and an optional SONOS 12-speaker sound system.

Engine Options

Powertrain options consist of a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 148 HP and 250 NM of torque, along with two 2.0-litre petrol variants. These produce either 201 HP and 350 NM of torque or 261 HP and 400 NM of torque. Additionally, it features a 2.0-litre diesel engine and a PHEV with 268 HP and 400 NM of torque.

Expected Launch In India

Audi has not confirmed whether the Q3 Sportback will launch in India, but it may follow the Q3 SUV. We expect the Q3 SUV to arrive in India in 2026. When launched, it will rival the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
