Citroen has opened pre-bookings for the upcoming Basalt X for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Interested buyers have the option to reserve the car at Citroen dealerships or via the company’s official website. Citroen has not yet announced exact launch details.
The Basalt X, like the recently launched C3 X, is expected to get cosmetic and feature upgrades. Citroen hints at changes to the dashboard with a new pattern imprint and bronze accents through teaser images shared. The AC vents and interior upholstery preview a fresh black-and-tan combination as well.
Citroen positions the Basalt X as the new range-topping trim that could bring additional features and colour options. Citroen enhanced the C3 X with features like keyless entry, push-button start, a 360-degree camera, and a new Garnet Red exterior shade, which may inspire similar upgrades for the Basalt X.
Mechanically, Citroen will keep the Basalt unchanged under the hood. It continues with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine delivering 110 HP and 190 NM of torque with the manual gearbox. The automatic variant with a 6-speed torque converter receives 205NM of torque.
Citroen expects the Basalt X to command a premium of Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 over the existing top-spec variant. Citroen will reveal more details about pricing and features closer to the launch date.
