BMW has launched special ‘50 Jahre’ Editions of the 330Li and the M340i to celebrate 50 years of the iconic 3 Series. The brand’s Chennai plant manufactures both models, with only 50 units of each available exclusively through BMW India’s official website. These limited-run editions blend exclusivity with distinctive styling and performance upgrades.
The BMW 330Li M Sport ‘50 Jahre Edition’ gets aesthetic enhancements, including the Shadowline package, blacked-out grille, window surrounds, diffuser, and tailpipes. A unique laser-engraved ‘1/50’ badge on the B-pillar underscores its limited status. The cabin includes carbon fibre trim, curved display screens, a head-up display with augmented view, and comfort seats with extendable thigh support.
Powering the 330Li is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine delivering 255 HP and 400 NM of torque. This setup enables a 0 to 100 km/hr sprint in 6.2 seconds, combining efficiency with performance. The model is priced at Rs. 64 lakh (ex-showroom) and offered in Mineral White, Skyscraper Grey, and M Carbon Black finishes.
The more powerful BMW M340i ‘50 Jahre Edition’ continues its legacy as the quickest locally produced BMW, clocking 0-100 kmph in 4.4 seconds. It is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 369 HP and 500 NM of torque, paired with all-wheel drive and an M Sport differential. The sedan, priced at Rs. 76.90 lakh (ex-showroom), offers aggressive driving dynamics with exclusivity.
Visual updates for the M340i include special ‘50 Jahre’ badges, black M badging, and black 19-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, there are also red M-Sport brake callipers and unique hubcaps. Inside, the sedan features Vernasca leather upholstery with M highlights, sport seats, carbon fibre trim, and a curved display system.
As a special gesture, customers also get a 1:18 scale model of the legendary BMW 3.0 CSL.
