The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will launch a FASTag Annual Pass on August 15, 2025, allowing private vehicle owners to travel on select highways and expressways without paying tolls for up to a year. The initiative aims to simplify highway commuting, reduce wait times at toll plazas, and cut down on repeated recharges.
The pass will cost Rs. 3000 and will be valid for either 200 toll transactions or 12 months. whichever comes first. It will be accepted only at toll plazas located on National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE) managed by NHAI or the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). This includes major routes such as the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, Mumbai–Nashik and Mumbai–Surat corridors.
The scheme applies exclusively to private vehicles, with commercial vehicles excluded from eligibility.
Applicants can register via the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app or the NHAI/MoRTH official websites. The process involves logging in with a vehicle registration number and FASTag ID, ensuring the FASTag is active and linked to the correct vehicle, selecting the “Annual Pass” option and completing payment through digital methods such as UPI, credit/debit cards, or net banking.
Once payment is verified, activation is expected within two to three hours and confirmation will be sent via SMS to the registered phone number.
