Skoda Auto India has reached a key milestone in its nationwide retail presence, now operating over 300 customer touchpoints across 172 cities. A major portion of this recent growth has come from Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions, reflecting a strategic focus on expanding into emerging urban markets.
In the last nine months alone, the company has entered more than 30 new cities, all outside the traditional Tier 1 metro areas. Approximately 86% of its recent retail expansion has occurred in these Tier 2 and 3 locations and around 75% of Skoda’s total network now serves these regions directly.
This network expansion isn’t just about increasing showrooms, Skoda has also scaled up its service infrastructure. Its enhanced service capacity is now prepared to handle over 5.5 lakh vehicles annually, improving accessibility and after-sales support for customers across India.
The company’s leadership emphasises that this growth helps them deliver faster and more consistent service quality, enhancing the overall customer experience in less saturated markets.
In addition to its physical network growth, Skoda Auto India also saw strong performance in vehicle sales. For the first half of 2025, the carmaker posted its highest-ever H1 sales in India, with 36,194 units sold, representing a 134% increase year-on-year. This surge has been partly fuelled by the successful launch of the Kylaq model, which has gained traction in both Tier 1 and smaller urban centers.
Skoda’s dual approach, focusing on both retail footprint expansion and product appeal, appears to be paying off as it cements its presence across a wider range of Indian cities.
